Nordmeccanica S.p.A., founded in 1978 and acquired by Antonio Cerciello in 1998, is a leading company in the flexible packaging sector (lamination machines for industrial flexible packaging) and the metallization of paper and plastic films. Thanks to a radical internal restructuring, the company has seen a significant relaunch on both a national and global scale over the years, achieving remarkable results today: with revenue increasing from 7 to 110 million euros in just a few years, Nordmeccanica now boasts over 280 employees and facilities in Piacenza, New York, Buenos Aires, Shanghai, and Mumbai.
With the goal of offering its customers a new and innovative monitoring service that allows them to know in detail the operation of the machines, Nordmeccanica has chosen to embark on a profitable path of digitalization of its assets together with 40Factory.
For its Industrial IoT solution, Nordmeccanica has chosen precise functional modules, each dedicated to managing every aspect of the connected machine: real-time monitoring of the coil lamination process, verification of active alarms, control and verification of recipe parameters loaded into the machine, analysis of efficiency and production quality.
The solution, presented by Nordmeccanica in collaboration with 40Factory at the K2019 fair in Düsseldorf, was enthusiastically received by the company’s customers and, as proof of the success encountered, Nordmeccanica immediately received numerous connection requests from national and international clients.
