Founded in 1978 in Canelli, AROL is a global leader in the production of customized closure and capping systems. The company designs 100% of its machines and manufactures over 95% of their components in-house. Currently, it has more than 25,000 machines installed across a wide range of industries, including beverages, food, dairy, edible oil, wine and spirits, personal and home care, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.
The collaboration between AROL and 40Factory began at the end of 2023 with the development of a Proof of Concept (PoC) on a packaging line for the cosmetics sector. Following its success, AROL decided to extend the platform’s adoption to all types of machines it produces, also creating dedicated internal roles for managing the system.
To date, AROL has connected multiple production lines, both in the food and beauty sectors, using MORE in either cloud or edge mode, depending on the context and the needs of the end customer.
With MORE, the company can now monitor multi-machine lines comprising both its own equipment and that of other manufacturers, helping production managers optimize OEE, reduce waste and consumption, and diagnose issues quickly.
MORE is also a valuable tool for providing support to AROL’s end customers in the optimal use of their machines. In some cases, analyses conducted using this tool and the expertise of AROL personnel have led to improved production efficiency and reduced energy consumption.
Thanks to its collaboration with 40Factory, AROL has enhanced the efficiency and sustainability of its production lines. Recently, it has integrated new modules into MORE for video analysis, quality control, and sustainability optimization, aligning with Industry 5.0 objectives and continuing its path of digital innovation.
At the SIMEI 2024 fair in Milan, the International Exhibition of Machinery for Winemaking and Bottling, we had the pleasure of meeting Denis Ruffino, R&D Technical Director at AROL.
Together, we explored how MORE serves as a strategic touchpoint between manufacturers and end customers.
