Diemme Filtration (Aqseptence Group Srl), founded in 1921 and now part of the multinational Aqseptence Group, is an international leader in the design and production of technologies for industrial solid-liquid separation, in dynamic thickeners, and special filter presses. Aqseptence Group, a multinational active in multiple sectors and industrial applications related to solid-liquid separation and water treatment, today has about 1,300 employees, distributed in 29 production and commercial offices strategically located on five continents, and a consolidated turnover of over 300 million euros. Its success is based on manufacturing and process expertise, and on R&D and continuous improvement.
In the context of a structured path of digital transformation, Aqseptence needed a reliable and secure tool to understand how the filter press plants, installed around the world, are used in order to optimize their efficiency and provide new value-added services.
“Aida”, the Industrial IoT solution based on MAT technology, is capable of managing all aspects of the connected filter presses: it is possible to monitor the main efficiency KPIs, energy consumption, alarms, the wear state of the filter cloths, as well as identify the causes behind low productivity and the filtration cycles that require more attention; this last feature is supported by the innovative GCA (Golden Cycle Analytics) algorithm, based on machine learning technology, capable of learning from the indications provided by the operators.
In a second phase of the project, the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) module was integrated. Through this module, Diemme Filtration has an integrated tool to manage all maintenance activities, both ordinary and extraordinary, associated with each filter press; it is possible to know the maintenance status of every component, record maintenance interventions, analyze the most frequent breakdown events, and even generate and send the order for the necessary spare parts for the next maintenance to the e-commerce portal.
With 40Factory, Diemme Filtration lays the foundation for the addition of a business model of services to the classic model of design and supply of machinery, thus exponentially increasing the value of the supply to its customers.
